PROJECT ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST / GEOLOGIST

Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is an environmental remediation, water resource, and civil engineering firm seeking a full-time Project Environmental Scientist/Geologist to manage various complex environmental projects. The role involves preparing technical documents, managing project budgets, conducting field visits, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures while interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review of work plans, technical documents, and reports for federal, state, and local agencies
Prepare and review of new clientele proposals for federal, state, and private industry
Develop the scope of environmental assessment and remediation projects from our diverse portfolio and manage budgets
Conduct regular field visits to drive project execution and ensure that appropriate technical and health and safety procedures are being followed
Review and approve vendor work proposals and invoices
Write project reports, analyze, and interpret data, and prepare final reports to be submitted for Senior and clients review

Required

Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, earth or environmental science related field
Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification or willingness and ability to obtain in 6 - 12 months (will pay for study and testing materials)
Three or More years of experience in geological assessments, water supply, water treatment, environmental assessments, contaminant investigation, contaminant remediation, storm water management, wastewater treatment, permitting projects, or compliance projects in the public and private sectors
Consulting experience
Strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and experience interacting with governmental regulatory agencies
Demonstrated ability to properly manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring compliance with deliverable timelines
Professional Registration/Certification or ability to attain within two years of hire
Ability to travel within the western regional US

Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of the consulting business
Strong commitment to Safety and staff development
Possess ability to effectively manage personnel and administrative functions
Advanced technical capabilities associated with the specific field of expertise
Motivated self-starter and ability to perform periodic field work
Strong problem solving, research, and communication skills
Ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with site operations
Willingness to conduct Business Development activities
Technical writing competency and computer literacy
In-depth experience with service line specific cost projections, budget preparation and tracking
Ability to work individually and as a team member
