Responsibilities

Administer the efforts of Project Teams in strict accordance with the contract documents, company policies, Owner/Contractor contract, construction schedule and the level of EXCELLENCE, characteristic with LeChase Construction’s Corporate Mission and Vision Statements
Maintain a change log which will track all cost changes to the project
Study and become completely familiar with the contract documents, project drawings, specifications, schedules including all Mechanical, Electrical and special technical specification sections i.e., Food Service, Vertical Transportation, etc
Receive all Architectural Design Request for Pricing “RFP’s” documents including drawings and sketches and create file folders for each issue. Determine who and how RFP impacts and issue request for pricing to associated subcontractors and vendors
Upon subcontractor return of costed RFP it is the Project Engineer’s responsibility to review to assure proper scope and pricing
Review and confirm subcontract pricing for a change in scope is accurate and fair
Report to the team at weekly or bi-weekly meetings status of change issues currently open, and open Request for Information “RFI” documents, open submittals, long lead items, etc
Receive and process Request for Information “RFI” questions from subcontractors and vendors to the Architectural and Engineering design team. Solve any technical questions first if possible prior to issuance to Design team. Upon return of RFI, review response and if acceptable return to generating subcontractor or vendor
Create and maintain a Design team sketch log and file for field teams review
Update project contract documents with pre-bid addendums and post bid modifications to ensure all drawings and specifications are up to date with the most recent changes
Upon receipt of all priced RFP’s from the Subcontractor/Vendors for each Change in scope complete a detailed review and forward findings to project team
Track status of submitted change orders to ensure approvals of all changes are completed before any work begins
When approval of a Change Order is accomplished work with Project Manager to have all change orders written to subcontractors and/or vendors
Develop, coordinate and implement value engineering concepts, techniques to maximize job site efficiencies
Provide CPM scheduling if required for specific projects including weekly updates
Incorporate the three-week superintendent’s schedule into updates as it applies
Assist with weekly progress project management and superintendents' meetings
Review the approved door, frame and hardware schedules for completeness for all area’s of scope. (i.e., swing, throat size’s, door finish, etc.)
Inform the Project Manager and/or director of any significant scope changes required
Maintain excellent working relations with owners, their representatives, architects and engineers. Remember that you represent and are the Company to these important people. Pursue and obtain repeat business through complete customer satisfaction
Follow, enforce and adhere to the requirements of the General Responsibilities, Company Manuals and Policies
Cooperate with company advisors, professionals, trade consultants and other company experts
Pursue self-improvement through continuing educational opportunities and outside reading to improve leadership skills

Required

High school diploma & OSHA 30 training required
Basic knowledge of safety policies and procedures
English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation and technical writing
Computer applications related to the work
Office equipment
Recordkeeping principles and procedures
Ability to plan, organize and carry out assignments from project team with minimal direction
Ability to read and understand Construction Specifications and Plans
Ability to work with project teams, owners and subcontractors
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and master tasks
Ability to take on new tasks as needed
Ability to communicate to both field and management staff

Preferred

Vocational and/or college diploma desirable
Technical, mechanical, electrical, and communication knowledge desirable
