Drafting proposed opinions and orders after detailed analysis of the record, policy and law
Performing legal research and analysis relative to a broad variety of laws and legal issues and regulation affecting the Commission

Qualification

Juris DoctorateLegal researchMembership in Michigan State BarAdministrative Law experienceWriting skills

Required

Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law
Membership in good standing in the Michigan State Bar
No specific type or amount of experience is required for Administrative Law Specialist 13
One year of professional experience in legal work equivalent to an Administrative Law Specialist 13 or Administrative Law Examiner 13, or as an attorney for Administrative Law Specialist 14
Two years of professional experience in legal work, including one year equivalent to an Administrative Law Specialist 14 or Administrative Law Examiner 14; or, two years of experience as an attorney for Administrative Law Specialist P15
Three years of professional experience in legal work, including one year equivalent to an Administrative Law Specialist P15 or an Administrative Law Examiner P15; or, three years of experience as an attorney for Administrative Law Specialist 16
