AOT-IC Undergraduate Internship Program

We are seeking a motivated and technically strong student with a focus on the integration of hardware systems with software scripting
A strong emphasis will be placed on creating an automated test system for National Instruments components using a set of multidisciplinary skills
As an undergraduate intern, we will provide you with a mentor, a challenging and scalable project, and an opportunity to present your work and progress to colleagues across the laboratory
Qualification
Required
Computer programming (Python, C++, etc.) in support of scientific or engineering applications
Experience with LabVIEW, NI compact RIO, or NI compact DAQs
Familiarity with oscilloscopes, digital multi meters, or arbitrary waveform generators
Knowledge of electronics fundamentals and circuit schematics
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in any Physical Science or Engineering related discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science)
Must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours (or full-time equivalent). Entering college freshmen must provide documentation indicating matriculation into an undergraduate degree program
Must currently have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
Ability to self-teach and work independently and learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Currently enrolled (12 semester credit hours or full-time equivalent) in an accredited undergraduate degree-granting program (or international equivalent)
Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent). Entering first-year students must provide documentation indicating matriculation into an accredited undergraduate degree program
Preferred
Mindfulness to creation of a test system with the end user's input and requirements
Familiarity with hardware and software troubleshooting techniques
Experience soldering and building connectors for electronics
Experience with scripting to interface with devices using SCPI
Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) well in a professional and/or scientific context
Commitment to achieving results in a complex social and organizational setting
Advanced knowledge utilizing scripting to interface with lab equipment
Innovative thinker who can find unique solutions to complex issues that may arise
