Finance Client Account Manager & Accounting Services

Impact Ops is seeking an experienced Client Account Manager to join our Scottsdale headquarters team. This role combines strategic client relationship management with deep finance and accounting expertise to serve as the trusted advisor for our portfolio of finance and accounting clients.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain long-term relationships with finance and accounting clients, serving as their primary point of contact and trusted advisor
Conduct regular business reviews and strategic planning sessions with client stakeholders
Proactively identify client needs and position appropriate solutions
Develop and execute account growth strategies to expand service offerings within existing client base
Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities that align client goals with company offerings
Meet and exceed account targets while reducing churn and expanding account value
Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions to ensure mutually beneficial terms
Manage the full contract lifecycle from initial agreement through renewal
Track and report on revenue metrics, client health scores, and retention KPIs
Present to CFOs, controllers, and finance executives with clarity, confidence, and executive presence
Translate complex financial concepts into actionable recommendations
Build credibility and influence across all organizational levels
Review and discuss P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow in client contexts
Interpret financial data to identify trends, efficiency opportunities, and operational risks
Provide strategic financial consulting to help clients optimize their financial operations

Required

Minimum 3+ years of experience in account management, client success, or consulting roles within finance/accounting services
Proven track record of managing client portfolios and driving revenue growth
Demonstrated success in meeting revenue targets and reducing client churn
Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting processes
Familiarity with AP/AR cycles, audits, reconciliations, and ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
General knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and relevant compliance/reporting requirements
Ability to analyze financial data and KPIs to drive business decisions
Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) for pipeline and client tracking
Data literacy with Excel, Power BI, or dashboards for account performance analysis
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams (finance, product, operations) to deliver on commitments
Track record of identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions
Ability to manage multiple client portfolios without sacrificing service quality
Experience with consultative selling approaches and uncovering client pain points
Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to close deals and renewals
High emotional intelligence with ability to navigate complex client personalities and maintain partnerships under pressure
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to anticipate and resolve client issues quickly
Excellent time and priority management to handle competing demands effectively
Collaborative mindset with ability to influence and work cross-functionally

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Experience in professional services, accounting firms, or finance consulting
Background in strategic financial consulting or advisory services
Familiarity with technology solutions for financial process improvement
CPA, CMA, or relevant professional certifications (a plus)
