This key site-based role involves providing mechanical engineering oversight and support across mobile equipment, fixed plant, and infrastructure to ensure safe and cost-effective operations.

Responsibilities
Provide senior-level mechanical engineering support across open-pit mining operations, including mobile fleet, crushing, conveying, and fixed plant assets
Lead mechanical engineering standards, maintenance strategies, and reliability improvements
Support CAPEX projects, including design review, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning
Act as a technical authority for mechanical systems, troubleshooting complex failures and driving root cause analysis
Partner closely with operations and maintenance leadership to improve asset performance, availability, and safety
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company engineering standards
Support contractors, OEMs, and external engineering partners as required
Qualification
Required
Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering
Strong experience in open-pit mining, ideally copper or other base metals
Background covering mobile equipment and/or fixed plant in a production mining environment
Proven ability to operate at a senior technical level within site-based operations
Experience supporting capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across operations and maintenance teams
