Technology Project Manager
General Motors is seeking a Technology Project Manager to lead creative design and cross-functional technology initiatives. The role focuses on managing multiple innovation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and facilitating collaboration across various teams.

Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end management of multiple Innovation Projects across the team’s portfolio
Collaborate with designers, 3D sculptors, IT, engineers, purchasing, R&D, legal and technology vendors
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets
Own execution plan to ensure successful adoption of new technologies and processes
Facilitate stakeholder alignment through status reporting and escalation process
Monitor performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
Ensure compliance with internal processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timely delivery, and exceptional quality
Identify potential risks and key interdependencies, develop mitigation strategies, and action plans to address them
Demonstrate initiative and autonomy in driving large projects/programs end to end, consistently seeking opportunities for improvements and innovation
Facilitate inclusive meetings with attention to detail, accountability, and intentionality, ensuring the appropriate forum, cadence, and audience as well as documenting and following up on action plans
Foster cross-functional collaboration, operating as a key partner for product and engineering, by employing strategic communication and influencing tactics to maximize collective impact
Lead teams through change, fostering a culture of adaptability by adjusting project/program plans accordingly and ensure appropriate communication to all stakeholders
Display professional courage by driving accurate and honest results with a sense of urgency, inspiring the team to operate with heightened engagement and efficiency
Uphold GM’s core beliefs and behaviors necessary to maintain a productive team culture without inhibiting individuality and personal diversity
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related field; master's preferred
5+ years of experience in Project/Program Management
1+ years of experience in AI/ML solutions
Microsoft Office products (emphasis on MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Copilot)
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Experience leading projects with technical and non-technical teams
Strong project/program management experience, with practical familiarity in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, applied where most effective
Proven track record of influencing without direct authority, fostering collaboration
Demonstrated leadership in motivating cross-functional team members across different time zones and backgrounds to achieve goals effectively and efficiently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
PMP Certification
Experience working in a creative design studio
(Internal) OPEX methodologies
Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Slack
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps frameworks
Familiarity with data privacy, ethics in AI, and responsible AI practices
Certification in Agile/Scrum or SAFe methodologies
