Bookkeeper – Property Management Accounting
Pousada Management oversees a portfolio of short-term rental and hospitality properties, and they are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Bookkeeper to manage property-level accounting. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, maintaining accurate books, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close.

Maintain accurate books for multiple properties and entities
Record and categorize income and expenses by property
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms
Track operating expenses, vendor payments, and reimbursements
Ensure proper allocation of shared expenses across properties
Reconcile bookings and payouts from platforms (e.g., Airbnb, VRBO, PMS systems)
Track occupancy-based income and identify discrepancies
Assist with reporting on property-level performance
Prepare month-end close and basic financial statements
Support year-end close and provide clean books to CPA
Assist with 1099 tracking and documentation
Maintain organized financial records and audit-ready documentation
Generate property-level P&Ls and summary reports
Identify inconsistencies or areas for improved financial tracking
Help refine bookkeeping processes as the portfolio grows
Qualification
Required
3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (or similar accounting software)
Strong understanding of reconciliations and expense categorization
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple properties
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Excellent communication and responsiveness in a remote setting
Preferred
Experience with property management, hospitality, or multi-entity accounting strongly preferred
