Responsibilities

Assist the MnDOT Metro District Oakdale Plant Maintenance Engineer and the MnDOT Metro District Golden Valley Plant Maintenance Engineer in performing skilled operation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, equipment and other mechanical systems

Assist the Plant Maintenance Engineer in performing building construction maintenance and repair, and grounds maintenance as required

Assist the plumber and electrician as necessary so that services are provided in a safe and efficient manner

Required

Experience operating and maintaining heating, plumbing, ventilation and electrical systems and auxiliary appliances

Skill in the use of hand tools of the trade sufficient to make adjustments and simple repairs to equipment and assist in the making of major repairs and alterations

Experience with building and grounds maintenance and construction practices

Valid Class D Driver's License

Preferred

Knowledge of building energy management systems; safety and environmental regulations; and State and Federal OSHA rules and regulations; and ability to order job materials and purchase parts

Considerable knowledge of standard HVAC practices and be familiar with State Plumbing and Electrical Codes

Experience with reading and working from blueprints, plans and specifications

Boiler Special Engineer License, and Boiler 2nd Class C Engineer License or higher with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry
