Responsibilities
Review and follow up on all hand-off items from the previous shift
Plan perishable and frozen loads; confirm driver assignments
Update load boards with grocery routes and next-day planning
Prioritize grocery routes and first-out loads
Build shuttle trips with CSR and confirm coverage
Balance driver, tractor, and load capacity across locations
Plan salvage loads and backhauls; confirm PO and appointment requirements
Review and correct the Hours of Service (HOS) availability
Set up drivers for shuttle moves, water/pallet deliveries, and tech loads
Coordinate equipment moves for PMs, vehicle turn-ins, and campaigns
Monitor attendance, call-offs, and PTO updates
Track unresolved issues and document shift activity in Ops Chat
Escalate driver refusals or coverage gaps to leadership
Collaborate closely with Customer Service Representatives (CSR)
Provide detailed shift hand-offs to incoming planners
Qualification
Required
Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills
Working knowledge of transportation planning and HOS compliance
Clear, professional communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams
High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Excel
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, operational environment
Preferred
Experience with load planning systems (TMW, Transview, or similar preferred)
