Assistant Vice President, Strategy & Operations

Cyber Risk Institute (CRI) is a not-for-profit organization focused on advancing cybersecurity, technology, and artificial intelligence risk management standards for the financial services industry. The Assistant Vice President, Strategy & Operations will support CRI’s leadership by translating strategy into execution across various initiatives while engaging with members, regulators, and partners.

Responsibilities

Lead working group calls, membership overviews, onboarding, and ongoing engagement—particularly for community and mid-size financial institutions
Serve as a consistent point of contact for members, responding to inquiries and helping institutions navigate CRI products, initiatives, and participation opportunities
Support membership growth through outreach, preparation of overview materials, and coordination of onboarding activities
Maintain strong relationships with existing members through regular communication and targeted engagement
Support CRI’s engagement with domestic and international regulators by preparing materials, summaries, and briefing content
Track and synthesize regulatory developments relevant to CRI’s mission and member interests
Represent CRI in select regulatory, industry, or standards-related discussions, as appropriate
Support relationships with CRI’s innovators, affiliates, and strategic partners, including coordination, communications, and content development
Assist with onboarding and engagement of ecosystem participants to ensure alignment with CRI’s mission, standards, and member needs
Assist senior leadership in coordinating meetings, workshops, and communications with regulatory stakeholders
Develop and manage member-facing and external communications, including newsletters, announcements, blogs, and web content
Draft presentations, executive summaries, talking points, and briefing materials for CRI leadership
Ensure consistent messaging across membership, regulatory, and partnership communications
Support communications around key initiatives, product releases, and strategic milestones
Manage cross-functional initiatives aligned with CRI’s strategic priorities, including a number of domestic and international in-person events
Oversee day-to-day operations of committees and working groups, including scheduling, agendas, materials, and follow-up
Convert member input and discussion into clear, iterative content to advance CRI initiatives
Develop and track project plans, timelines, risks, and deliverables; provide regular updates to senior leadership
Coordinate with external consultants and vendors supporting CRI programs
Maintain quality control of membership data and CRM records
Prepare reports and summaries for senior leadership and the Board, as requested

Required

Knowledge of cybersecurity, technology, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology risks, issues, and considerations. Preference for financial services experience
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor messaging to executives, regulators, partners, and members
High degree of flexibility, adaptability, and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when working with sensitive or confidential information
Ability to synthesize complex technical, regulatory, and industry information into clear, concise materials
Collaborative mindset and comfort working across functions and with diverse stakeholders
3–5 years of experience in project management, membership engagement, communications, partnerships, or related roles
Experience engaging with senior leaders and managing external relationships
Bachelor's degree required

Preferred

Financial services experience
Exposure to financial services, cybersecurity, technology, policy, standards, or regulatory environments strongly preferred
Master's degree preferred
Project management, communications, or policy-related certifications are a plus
