Responsibilities

Design, develop, configure, and support automation systems for manufacturing assets, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and associated control systems

Support automation activities across the asset lifecycle, including project execution, commissioning, qualification, startup, and handover to operations

Collaborate with engineering, IT/OT, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure automation solutions meet business, safety, and compliance requirements

Develop and maintain automation standards, control philosophies, and technical documentation

Execute and support validation activities (e.g., risk assessments, test scripts, IQ/OQ/PQ) in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements

Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operations

Support cybersecurity, data integrity, and system access controls in alignment with company and regulatory standards

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation reliability, scalability, and efficiency

Manage or support vendors and system integrators during design, build, and deployment phases

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field)

3–7+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or similar)

Hands-on experience with PLC and control platforms (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or equivalent)

Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networks

Strong understanding of GMP, validation practices, and regulated system lifecycle management

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and functional specifications

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred

Experience supporting capital projects and asset delivery in large-scale manufacturing facilities

Familiarity with batch systems, MES interfaces, or serialization systems

Knowledge of OT cybersecurity concepts and industrial network architecture

Experience working with system integrators and external vendors

Project management or leadership experience on automation-focused initiatives
