Responsibilities
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and GAAP
Manage all day-to-day accounting activities in QuickBooks Online, including entering vendor invoices, applying operational expenses, and reconciling accounts to ensure accurate financial data
Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and receivable processes, verifying vendor pricing and maintaining up-to-date records of bills, credits, and payments
Lead month-end and year-end close processes
Review bi-weekly payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring compliance with internal policies and payroll tax requirements
Reconcile inventory values in QuickBooks Online to maintain accurate cost accounting
Prepare and deliver ad hoc financial reports, including profit & loss statements and other management reporting to support business decision-making
Organize and categorize transactions involving multiple business entities and LLCs
Ensure all documentation is audit-ready and organized for internal and external reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA preferred)
6+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a startup environment
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control framework
Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, etc)
Experience in QuickBooks Online
Fundamental understanding of inventory-related accounting concepts, including cost of goods, chargebacks, and other associated reconciliations
Strong analytical skills
Ability to execute independently with a strong attention to detail
