Responsibilities

Own end-to-end paint and finishing operations, including robotic and manual paint processes
Lead daily production support for paint systems, ensuring uptime, quality, and throughput targets are met
Manage and improve paint processes, film build, transfer efficiency, cycle time, scrap, and rework
Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve issues and drive improvements
Train, coach, and support operators and technicians on paint processes, robotics, and troubleshooting
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to paint operations
Program, modify, and optimize robotic paint paths and routines (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa)
Adjust spray parameters including gun timing, speed, distance, atomization, and material flow
Support commissioning, setup, and validation of new robots, paint equipment, and process changes
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, robotic, PLC, and process-related issues within paint systems
Perform trials for new parts, colors, materials, and process changes; document and standardize results
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, cost reduction, material usage, and quality
Monitor KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, scrap, and transfer efficiency
Maintain and update standard work, setup sheets, work instructions, and paint process documentation
Support data collection, analysis, and reporting related to paint system performance

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent hands-on experience
Proven experience in robotic paint systems and industrial spray processes
Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting industrial robots (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa)
Strong understanding of paint application parameters, coatings, and finishing processes
Experience supporting paint operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and process documentation
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred

Experience managing or leading paint teams or paint operations
Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, or automation data collection tools
Experience with automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing environments
Familiarity with environmental, safety, and compliance requirements for paint operations
