Regional Applications Engineer - AV/Spectaculars

Responsibilities
Assist with specific customer requests
Work with project team members to optimize customer control systems
Keep internal and external groups aware of new product and site configuration information, project sales support, and selling Daktronics control system products & services
Work directly with clients and quickly identify their core application needs, while understanding how those needs correlate to Daktronics' products and offerings
Recommend control systems solutions that meet performance, cost, and delivery requirements
Present technical features and benefits of Daktronics products/offerings vs. Market competitors
Act as a technical liaison for all facets of the new display projects: Sales, clients, project management, and internal & external AV partner engineering/design teams
Support both the internal & external sales and engineering teams by providing technical guidance, application/integration support, and product feasibility input
Assist with proposal development, customer documentation, and technical solutions design, while working closely with engineering to align customer requirements with product design, manufacturing capabilities, and timelines
Present technical writing, including system descriptions, applications notes, and customer-facing renderings/documentation, as well as contributing to system architecture discussions to ensure that solution offerings are technically sound and viable
Educate and enable the sales team by clearly communicating the technical capabilities, limitations, and differentiators of Daktronics' display, control, and services solutions
Presenting and selling LED control offerings and explaining how control systems integrate with the broader Audio-Visual environments
Effectively communicate product value and technical concepts to large, cross-functional audiences at client organizations: Including stakeholders in procurement, sales, marketing, construction, av systems, IT specialists, etc., tailoring messages to both technical and non-technical decision makers
Maintain a strong understanding of current market trends, industry standards, and other requirements impacting LED control systems
Stay informed on emerging technologies and future market shifts and translating that knowledge into actionable insights for the business units, including sales strategy and product development discussions
Working knowledge of 3rd party content management software (CMS) products in the market: Broadsign, Ayuda, Navori, OmniVex, Scala, Sedna, et al
Understand the strengths & weaknesses of each system and how they would interface with Daktronics control and display solutions
Be well-versed in Daktronics' own CMS offering, Venus Control Suite (VCS), with ability to understand the appropriate control solutions for each customer and how to best customize the software to realize the desired vision of the end user
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree. Preferred majors include electronic engineering technology, computer engineering technology, technical management, or a technical or business field
You will work effectively as a team member. Work with limited daily supervision
Prefer experience with control system operation, system integration, and programmatic scheduling
Strong Communication skills including verbal and written skills, interpersonal, ability to develop and present winning presentations of Daktronics products and services
Experience selling product values and features. Must demonstrate ability to successfully negotiate price without being the lowest price supplier
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment. Represent Daktronics confidently and professionally
Motivated and a team-player. Initiative to solve problems and seek improvement. Goal-oriented with proven leadership capability
Become knowledgeable and follow Daktronics policies, processes, and procedures
Travel to customer sites and offices and build and maintain customer relationships; position yourself as an expert and trusted technical advisor
Knowledge of Daktronics products, hardware, and software used in various markets is beneficial
Will need to be accessible after regular business hours, which may include multiple time zones for meetings
Ability to work from a home office location
Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Driving Eligibility Requirements. Motor vehicle records will be checked
Fluent in English, written and verbal
