HR Operations Manager

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a highly skilled HR Operations Manager - Benefits to lead the strategy, administration, and optimization of employee benefits programs. Responsibilities

Evaluate, design, and consolidate company benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans (401k), wellness, and ancillary offerings
Manage end-to-end benefits operations, including annual open enrollment, vendor relationships, plan renewals, compliance requirements, and employee communication
Analyze benefits utilization, cost drivers, and market competitiveness to make recommendations for program enhancements
Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management related to benefits programs
Lead the transition of acquired companies from PEOs to internal HR and benefits plans, including plan mapping, employee education, data migration, and compliance alignment
Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure smooth benefit transitions, onboarding of new employee groups, and consistent application of policies
Support the implementation of a new HRIS system, ensuring seamless configuration, data integrity, and workflow optimization
Integrate benefit plans within the new HRIS, including vendor feeds, self-service functionality, and automated processes
Maintain and optimize HRIS modules related to benefits, reporting, and employee experience
Provide guidance on benefits-related inquiries, escalations, and complex case management while ensuring exceptional employee support
Assist in developing HR policies, internal documentation, and process improvements across HR operations
Support other HR functions as needed, including onboarding, compliance audits, and HR reporting

Required

7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong emphasis on benefits administration and operations
Demonstrated experience evaluating and managing benefits programs, including medical and retirement plans
Experience transitioning employees from PEOs to traditional employer-sponsored benefit plans
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements
Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred

HRIS implementation experience (e.g., Workday, UKG, ADP, BambooHR, or similar)
Experience supporting M&A integrations or multi-state organizations
Understanding of federal and state benefits compliance requirements (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, etc.)
