Responsibilities
Serves as Supervisory Civil Engineering Technician with responsibility for directing the efficient and effective accomplishment of assigned activities
Directs efforts of subordinates involved in performing reconnaissance surveys of district waterways and assures that such surveys are conducted in a timely manner
Develops schedules, manages workload, establishes deadlines, and sets priorities for subordinates involved in collecting hydrographic survey data
Provides technical guidance and instruction on work requirements, methods, and procedures
Reviews work of subordinates to ensure that procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met, and that final products conform with objectives
Responsible for ensuring that controlled survey equipment is kept in working order on survey boats
Establishes procedures and criteria for the maintenance of records on channel conditions and activities which affect navigation, utilizing computer capabilities as much as possible
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) managing and scheduling hydrographic survey operations; 2) reviewing and evaluating field reports on channel conditions; AND 3) coordinating utilization of vessels, equipment, and personnel
