Responsibilities
Lead the design and technical architecture of enterprise data warehouse solutions, data marts, and analytical data structures optimized for high-performance querying with SQL
Create and maintain logical and physical data models (star schemas, snowflake schemas) to ensure consistency, flexibility, and scalability of data structures used for analytics
Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL for data ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and performance tuning across large datasets; ensure efficient use of indexes, partitions, and query plans
Architect, implement, and oversee robust extract-transform-load (ETL/ELT) processes, ensuring high data quality, consistency, governance, and lineage as data flows from source systems into the warehouse and data marts
Identify performance bottlenecks and design optimized solutions for storage, processing, and retrieval to support reporting and analytics at scale
Work closely with business stakeholders, analytics teams, BI developers, and IT leaders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable data architecture solutions
Establish standards and best practices for data quality, data definitions, security, and documentation; implement mechanisms to monitor and maintain data reliability
Evaluate and integrate modern cloud data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and tools as part of strategic data platform evolution
Coach and mentor data engineers and analysts in SQL best practices, data modeling principles, and architectural standards
