Responsibilities
Review and process invoices, ensuring that all necessary approvals and supporting documentation are in place before payment. Code invoices to appropriate accounts and departments within the bank's financial systems
Prepare and execute payments via various methods (ACH, wire transfer, check, etc.) in accordance with bank policies and vendor terms. Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely disbursement
Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies, address payment inquiries, and ensure timely payments. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors
Reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Resolve any discrepancies between internal records and vendor statements
Maintain accurate and organized records of all AP transactions, including invoices, payment confirmations, and vendor communications, in compliance with bank policies and relevant regulations
Review and verify expense reports submitted by employees, ensuring that they are consistent with bank policies and guidelines
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field required
Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or other similar platforms)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance/accounting role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry
Knowledge of bank-specific AP practices and payment methods (ACH, wire transfers, etc.) is a plus
