Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations across office, training, kennel, and care teams
Ensure policies, procedures, safety standards, and workflows are followed
Strengthen internal communication and collaboration across departments
Manage relationships with vendors, partners, and community stakeholders
Improve processes to support a healthy, efficient, and ethical organization
Lead, support, and coach key staff and department leads
Conduct regular check-ins; train, support, and evaluate staff performance
Foster an environment of accountability, professionalism, and compassion
Address staff issues promptly and constructively
Oversee budgeting and cash flow
Monitor expenses, purchasing, payroll, and financial processes
Ensure financial policies and reporting practices are followed
Prepare reports and financial updates for the Board of Directors
Develop and execute the annual fundraising plan
Coordinate donor communications, appeals, and stewardship
Support grant writing and reporting with our grant writer
Engage the Board in fundraising responsibilities
Maintain fundraising systems, tracking, and reporting
Represent Medical Mutts at events, tours, and donor meetings
Qualification
Required
5+ years nonprofit management or operations experience (or comparable leadership experience)
Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills
Experience with budgets, HR basics, and project management
Comfort with donor relations and fundraising activities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Commitment to teamwork, transparency, and ethical practices
