Senior Staff Accountant (Req #: 98)
QuesTec Mechanical is a mechanical construction company looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to assist the Director of Accounting with various accounting-related duties. Responsibilities
Payroll Support to Payroll Administrator
Audit Support to Director of Accounting
Tax Prep Support to Director of Accounting
Accounts Payable Support to Accounts Payable Clerk
High Level AP transactions
Supports Purchasing with data entry and clerical tasks
Manage the QuesTec Real Estate books and financials
Supports and reconciles monthly bank accounts and credit card statements
Supports end of month GL closings
Supports and maintains depreciation schedules for fixed assets, equipment and vehicles
Maintains and analyzes fleet vehicle records and costs associated with vehicle purchases, maintenance and depreciation
Prepares and reviews monthly balance sheet, P&L statement and other financial reports, as requested
Supports in Quarterly Estimated Taxes and Draws
W2 Preparation, execution and corrections
401k Plan Transaction Support
Performs general data entry related to the accounting function
Accepts guidance and exhibits a willingness to communicate positively with all QuesTec employees
Maintains various licenses related to the Company and projects
Troubleshoot A/R, A/P, and job costing questions
Suggests ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues and improve profits
Works with employees responsible for inventory
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ten years of corporate accounting or bookkeeping experience
Positive attitude and outlook
Proficient with technology and basic computer software programs
High degree of accuracy and detail orientation
Ability to work within tight deadlines
Attention to detail and quality of work performed by self and work to be assigned to project(s)
Ability to work independently with minimal direct oversight
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Good communication skills (oral and written)
Solid understanding of confidentiality in an information-sensitive employment role
Minimum of a high school diploma
Valid social security number
High degree of organization and ability to prioritize multiple, simultaneous projects
Ability to understand and consistently apply mid-level accounting skills
Ability to withstand long periods of sitting or standing (stationary positions up to 50% of time)
Ability to feel, grasp, operate and position items with fingers and hands; may require extensive keyboarding work at times
Preferred
Advanced Excel knowledge preferred
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
