Accounting Manager (Remote/Part-Time)
Dory Dimes LLC is a unique bookkeeping firm focused on empowering artists and creative entrepreneurs by transforming their understanding of financial management. They are seeking a part-time Accounting Manager who will lead month-end close processes, review associate bookkeeper work, assist with client onboarding, and manage client communications, all while fostering empathetic communication and continued learning.

Responsibilities
Lead month-end close ensuring reports are delivered accurately and on time
Review and approve associate bookkeeper work for accuracy
Be the first line of defense for problem-solving accounting entries, reconciliations, and any other weird-ass-shit QBO does
Balance Sheets. That's the bullet point
Double (month-end close system) is properly closed out and client reporting and dashboards are clean
Assist with client onboarding, internal set-up, information/document transfer, and bookkeeper assignment
Provide kick-ass support to your roster of clients as well as provide feedback to associate owned clients
Lead client calls, provide Loom walk-through, communicate and answer team questions via Slack
Register and manage payroll tax accounts for clients (state)
Set-up and troubleshoot payroll in Gusto
Manage and research sales tax, provide answers to questions for both team and clients
Manage 1099 filing process at year-end
Collaborate with CPAs throughout the year and during tax season
Manage day-to-day workflow for team of 3-4 bookkeepers
Assign work, track progress, maintain deadlines, and ensure deliverables are met
Collaborate on SOP upkeep and internal workflow
Attend team meetings and 1:1 calls
Review and maintain Double (formerly Keeper) for accuracy and task completion
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Accounting or MBA (required)
3-5 years of leading month-end close (required)
Proven ability to tame QBO into submission (required)
Knows their way around a P&L and more importantly, a BS (required)
Experience in filing sales tax and 1099s (required)
Experience setting up, running, and reconciling payroll (required)
Strong GAAP knowledge and implementation
Natural detective skills and eye of errors
Comfortable on Loom, client calls, and explaining financial results to non-experts
Tech/software savvy, good internet, and comfortable working independently and in a 100% remote environment (except for annual company retreat!)
