Business Insights Consultant - Office of Ethics

The Business Insights Consultant role in the Office of Ethics involves using advanced analytics and business intelligence to detect fraud and strengthen internal controls while translating complex data into actionable insights for decision-making.
Responsibilities
Turn data into decisions: Extract, transform, and analyze large internal and external datasets; surface trends, anomalies, and actionable insights using R, Python, SQL, SAS, and Tableau/modern BI tools
Enable proactive risk detection: Build and maintain dashboards, monitoring solutions, forecasts, and projections that support fraud detection and strengthen control environments
Advance anti‑fraud strategy: Partner with the Internal Investigations Unit (IIU) and business leaders to identify patterns and relationships that reveal potential fraud, and recommend enhancements to anti‑fraud technologies and methodologies
Communicate with clarity: Package complex findings into concise, executive‑ready narratives and visuals; ensure insights are ethical, decision‑relevant, and aligned to company values
Investigate with integrity: Conduct low‑complexity investigations (e.g., conflicts of interest, fraud, theft, misappropriation of assets) with objectivity, confidentiality, and sound judgment; document findings clearly
Drive continuous improvement: Lead and contribute to special projects, intake/prioritization of analytic work, and process improvements that elevate investigative and analytic capabilities
Operate with compliance: Maintain current knowledge of company policies and relevant local/state/federal laws to ensure investigative and analytic practices remain compliant
Qualification
Required
Typically 8+ years in data extraction, manipulation, analysis, and visualization
Proven work with large structured/unstructured datasets and advanced statistical/BI techniques
Proficiency with R/Python/SQL/SAS and Tableau/modern BI
Strong command of diagnostic/inferential analysis, forecasting, and data visualization
Ability to understand business processes, translate ambiguous problems into analytic solutions, and communicate complex findings in a clear, actionable manner
Curiosity, independence, critical thinking, confidentiality, integrity, and collaboration under tight timelines
Bachelor's in data/business analytics, computer science, MIS, mathematics or related field
Preferred
Industry experience in insurance/financial services
