$47/hr - $50/hreTeam is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain backend tools and automation pipelines for AI and data-driven applications. The role requires strong backend engineering expertise and collaboration across cross-functional teams to ensure system performance and reliability.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend tools, services, automation scripts, and pipelines to support AI and data-driven applications
Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and database solutions to ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve backend, database, and automation-related issues
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document best practices while ensuring security and compliance standards are met
Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging backend, AI, and automation technologies to improve efficiency and scalability
Actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) responsibilities by adhering to established UO policies, procedures, and training requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong programming expertise in Python, with additional experience in JavaScript, C, and C++
Hands-on experience with AI/ML development, backend tooling, and automation pipelines
Proficiency in SQL and database technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases, for data modeling and backend integration
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and scripting
Solid understanding of backend architectures, distributed systems, and performance optimization
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered
