Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle planning and execution of capital projects (scoping, feasibility, scheduling, budgeting, vendor selection, design reviews, installation, commissioning, handoff)
Develop business cases that quantify operational improvements, risk reduction, and financial impact
Create cost estimates, forecasts, and resource plans; adjust as required to support execution realities
Drive technical solutioning, evaluating options for performance, cost, safety, and maintainability
Own equipment specifications and work packages; ensure alignment across operations, engineering, and procurement
Review mechanical, electrical, and control system designs, ensuring functional compliance and startup readiness
Manage external engineering partners, contractors, and suppliers to maintain cost, quality, and safety standards
Support bid preparation and evaluations, negotiate commercial terms, and recommend award decisions
Integrate safety, ergonomics, environmental compliance, and operational maintainability into equipment and process design
Support training, documentation, and turnover to operations and maintenance teams post-startup
Provide structured communication to stakeholders on status, issues, scope changes, and milestones
Apply lean and continuous improvement concepts to project execution and plant performance
Mentor teammates and support technical upskilling across project staff and operations partners
Travel to project sites to oversee installation, commissioning, audits, and troubleshooting
Qualification
Required
BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar)
5+ years of engineering experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience managing projects in the multi-million-dollar range
Strong planning, scheduling, estimating, and contractor management experience
Skilled in solving process/equipment issues and navigating ambiguous execution environments
Effective communicator with ability to interface from production floor to leadership level
Comfortable leading cross-functional project teams and influencing without direct authority
Proficiency with project scheduling and standard productivity tools; exposure to ERP systems is a plus
Willing and able to travel heavily to support multi-site execution
