Responsibilities
Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements fabrication, assembly and testing
Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with staff and coordinate corrections
Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test nature of technical problems such as redesign
Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment, and measuring instruments
Draft detail drawing or sketch for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet or wood shops
Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed
Operates machine shop tooling and machines: mills, drills, lathes, flame cutters, hoists
Repairs tooling and fixtures damaged in production
Welds and assembles tooling when design is complete to insure function, quality, and safety standards
Assembles parts into product and verifies dimensions and alignments
Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock to lay out for machining
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
1 year experience as an attendant
Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry is preferable
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
Perform basic Microsoft Office skills, CAD and other software
Skilled in the Design of Tooling utilizing Solid Works modeling or CAD
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be available and able to work outside the normal work week schedule when needed. (Emergency breakdowns and Scheduled Outages)
Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed
The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly
The ability to respond quickly to sounds
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds
The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE
Ability to see 20-20 when corrected
Ability to identify and distinguish colors
