HR Generalist

Valley Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist to provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department. This role involves assisting with employee onboarding, benefits administration, and general HR inquiries, while ensuring compliance with HR policies.

Responsibilities

Manages completion of onboarding activities for new hires, including paperwork, orientation, and assistance with benefits enrollment
Supports new hire integration by managing first-day logistics and orientation
Coordinates post-onboarding follow-up, ensuring all administrative tasks are completed
Co-facilitates benefits orientation sessions during onboarding, alternating presentation responsibilities to educate new hires on available benefits
Assists with the uniform process with new hires and annual allowances
Performs year-end benefits reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and documentation of employee benefits
Monitors deadlines for benefits submissions and follows up with employees to ensure compliance
Assists with maintenance and upkeep of personnel files including MedTrainer
Reviews documentation related to insurance discount comparability assessments
Review payroll reports and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
Assists with Family Medical Leave and Leave of Absence processes
Handles HR office communications, including mail and inter-office messages, to support efficient departmental operations
Responsible for scanning and maintaining employee documents within electronic personnel files, ensuring confidentiality and organization
Provides general support to Human Resources
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's in Human Resources, Business or Health Administration or equivalent experience is required
1–2 years of HR support experience or internships or practicum experience in HR preferred
Knowledge of federal/state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, etc.)
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
High confidentiality and professionalism
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Work is sedentary in nature; however, the ability to stand and/or walk for periods of one hour intervals; stooping, bending, reaching, lifting approximately 25 pounds is required
Conveys a professional and positive image and attitude regarding the organization
Develops good rapport with staff
