Responsibilities

Serve as a Physical Security Technical Expert of the Security Support Division within a Specialized Security Assignment
Plan, develop, troubleshoots and implement new, modified, and/or upgraded programs and systems that are vital to the organization's mission
Assist in establishing and executing the program goals and objectives of the Enterprise for Security and Access Control Program

Required

This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
This position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time
This position is deployable and may require extended TDY to OCONUS locations
This position requires a pre-employment physical and thereafter prior to OCONUS travel over 30 days
Employee must reside within the local area (50 miles) and able to report to work within an hour notice
Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete counter-intelligence scope polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI)
This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment
May require uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evening, weekends, and holidays
Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights
This is an obligated position
This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social)
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in managing security programs (i.e planning, scheduling, coordinating, or monitoring system programs); providing recommendations for necessary hardware changes to supply required security systems to an organization; and maintaining technical security systems
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11)
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial period may be required
Direct deposit of pay is required
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees
