After-School Program Manager/Supervisor
The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation is a dedicated non-profit organization located in Jacksonville, FL, committed to youth development. We are seeking a dedicated Middle School Program Manager for our Teen Center who will oversee, plan, and execute programs for students in grades 6–8, ensuring high-quality academic enrichment and leadership development.

Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of engaging and developmentally appropriate programming for middle school students, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and core values as well as grant requirements
Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations of the middle school program including arrival/dismissal procedures, structured transitions, lesson delivery, and special events
Ensure that all middle school programming meets grant deliverables and educational objectives, including daily lesson plans, enrichment activities, social-emotional learning, and leadership training
Develop monthly calendars, student schedules, and event plans tailored to middle school needs
Organize and supervise fun and interactive initiatives such as Talent Shows, Leadership Circles, Camp Olympics, College and Career Days, and Service Projects
Coordinate field trips and outings that reinforce programming themes and expand students’ exposure to real-world learning opportunities
Monitor student behavior and engagement daily and provide redirection, re-teaching, or consequences based on the organization’s discipline policy
Serve as the primary behavioral support for middle school students, maintaining detailed documentation of incidents and interventions
Build relationships with students and implement initiative-taking strategies to support student motivation, self-awareness, communication, and leadership skills
Create and maintain a positive classroom culture by reinforcing program rules, behavioral expectations, and structured transitions
Conduct check-ins, small group discussions, and reflective circles with students needing additional support
Supervise, support, and evaluate part-time middle school staff, including program staff, academic teachers, contractors, volunteers, and interns
Ensure all staff understand and implement the daily schedule, policies, and student engagement strategies
Provide on-the-job coaching to staff to improve instructional delivery, student engagement, and behavioral responses
Host weekly team meetings to review goals, challenges, and upcoming plans
Model professionalism and initiative-taking problem-solving in interactions with students, staff, and parents
Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on student progress, program outcomes, and grant data as needed
Maintain up-to-date documentation for student attendance, behavioral tracking, and academic monitoring
Order supplies and materials, staying within budget guidelines and submitting requests in a timely manner
Use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) to maintain staff communications, program schedules, evaluations, and inventory
Ensure program classrooms and shared areas are maintained in an organized and clean manner, delegating staff to complete daily cleaning checklists
Collaborate with the Business Director on documentation, staff timesheets, programming organization, and compliance-related tasks
Always ensure student safety and proper supervision, including van transitions and event security
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree preferred in Education, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Youth Development, or a related field. An Associates degree with extensive experience with middle school students will be considered
A minimum of 2 years of experience collaborating with youth in an educational or after-school setting, preferable with middle school aged students
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and digital organizational tools
Exceptional flexibility, diligence and time management skills
Proven ability to manage, redirect, and coach both staff and students in a firm yet respectful manner
Outstanding communication, leadership, and team-building skills
Ability to independently manage a dynamic schedule and respond quickly to behavioral or operational issues
Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Drug Test
Valid Florida Driver's License with the ability to drive students as needed
Preferred
Familiarity with trauma-informed care, SEL (Social Emotional Learning), and youth leadership programming is preferred
