Finance Manager

United Aero Group is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee all financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions for their helicopter Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operation. This role involves ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while providing strategic financial leadership and supporting decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

Manage all accounting and finance activities for the MRO business unit, including general ledger, cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting
Lead the development and analysis of annual operating budgets, capital expenditures, and long-term financial plans
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policy
Partner with operations and maintenance leadership to evaluate project profitability, labor utilization, and cost efficiency
Monitor and analyze financial performance against key metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve margins and operational results
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial processes including expense management, procurement, billing, and inventory valuation
Support leadership in pricing strategy, rate development, and contract negotiations for MRO service agreements
Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts to executive management
Coordinate with external auditors, banking partners, and regulatory agencies as needed
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and automation
Support cross-functional teams on cost-reduction and process-optimization projects
Ensure all financial and administrative staff comply with MRO facility safety policies and procedures
Promote awareness of safe office and hangar work practices, including ergonomics, emergency preparedness, and hazard communication
Participate in safety briefings and maintain understanding of aviation-specific safety considerations in operational decision-making
Demonstrate financial leadership by incorporating safety considerations into capital planning and operational budgeting
Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for accounting and finance team members
Foster strong collaboration between finance, operations, maintenance, procurement, and human resources teams
Support a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Communicate financial performance and goals clearly to both technical and non-financial stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a management role within aviation, aerospace, or MRO operations
Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and project-based financial management
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel modeling skills
Demonstrated experience in financial leadership within a regulated, high-compliance industry
High ethical standards and commitment to integrity in all financial dealings
Strategic thinker with a results-driven and detail-oriented mindset
Collaborative and approachable leadership style that fosters teamwork
Demonstrates sound judgment, analytical rigor, and decisiveness under pressure

Expertise in ERP systems, financial reporting software, and Microsoft Office Suite

Occasional walking through hangar and production areas, including climbing stairs or ladders
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., boxes of records or equipment)
Visual acuity sufficient for reading financial data, spreadsheets, and printed materials
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and computers
