Program Analyst I (Temporary)
N.C. Department of Information Technology is seeking a temporary Program Analyst I to support the Department of Adult Correction. The role involves conducting research design and implementation, data analysis, and reporting to provide actionable insights for policy and program improvements.

Responsibilities
Assist the Research team to develop and implement research studies that align with the Department's strategic objectives
Contribute to the design of research protocols, including data collection tools, and analysis plans
Assist with conducting qualitative data collection through interviews, surveys, focus groups, observations and document analysis
Ensure data integrity and adherence to ethical standards throughout the research process
Analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data using appropriate methodologies
Utilize data analysis software (e g , R, Python, NVivo) to manage and analyze data
Interpret findings to provide actionable insights and recommendations for policy and program improvements
Collaborate with the Research Manager to support Department stakeholders with research, training and technical assistance
Ensure ethical and informed practices are followed for survey research activities
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that effectively communicate qualitative research findings to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, policymakers, and external partners
Collaborate with the Research Manager to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, present at conferences and contribute to relevant forums
Develop executive summaries and policy briefs to highlight key findings and recommendations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Research Design and Implementation
Assist the Research team to develop and implement research studies that align with the Department's strategic objectives
Contribute to the design of research protocols, including data collection tools, and analysis plans
Assist with conducting qualitative data collection through interviews, surveys, focus groups, observations and document analysis
