Lead Videographer & Manager

Responsibilities

Plan, produce, direct, shoot, and edit video content for worship services, sermon series, promotional campaigns, events, and storytelling initiatives
Lead, manage, and mentor staff videographers, providing creative direction, feedback, and performance oversight
Assign projects, manage workflows, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
Collaborate with the Director of Communications and internal stakeholders to develop video concepts aligned with HPUMC’s mission and brand
Maintain visual consistency and storytelling excellence across all video content
Oversee pre-production planning, including scripting, shot lists, timelines, and logistics
Manage post-production processes, including editing, color correction, audio mixing, and final delivery
Maintain and manage video equipment, assets, and archives
Stay current on video trends, tools, and best practices to continually elevate content quality
Capture video, drone footage, and photography stills at special events and other assignments as needed
Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may be modified at any time

Required

Bachelor's degree in film, video production, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of professional video production experience, including shooting and editing
Proven experience leading or managing a creative team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully in a team environment
Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a mission-driven, church environment
Strong portfolio demonstrating cinematic storytelling, technical skill, and creative vision
Proficiency in video production tools and software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
Experience with lighting (including green screen), audio, and camera operation in a variety of environments and knowledge of all aspects of post-production
Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Ability to take initiative and demonstrate strong organizational skills
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Must be a committed Christian with a church home, comfortable working in a United Methodist Church, and willing to spend occasional Sundays onsite to understand HPUMC firsthand
Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary

Preferred

FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License for capturing drone video footage preferred
Animation experience is a plus
Microsoft Office Suite
Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.)
Adobe Creative Suite
Video editing and production software
Asana or other project management software
