Director of Asset Management
Brightsmith is a well-capitalized, international renewable energy owner and operator expanding its U.S. leadership team. The Director of Asset Management – U.S. will oversee the performance and optimization of a growing U.S. renewable energy portfolio, ensuring assets meet technical, commercial, and financial objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead asset management activities for U.S. renewable energy and storage projects
Oversee operational performance, maintenance strategies, and lifecycle optimization
Manage external O&M providers, vendors, and technical consultants
Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and market requirements
Interface with regional market operators and support power market participation
Oversee commercial obligations, including power purchase agreements
Partner cross-functionally to support development-to-operations transitions
Drive continuous improvement in asset performance and value creation
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in asset management, operations, or portfolio management within the renewable energy sector
Demonstrated experience managing utility-scale solar, storage, or wind assets
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred
Strong understanding of renewable project construction, operations, and maintenance practices
Experience managing complex contracts and third-party service providers
Proven ability to work with utilities, grid operators, offtakers, and regulatory bodies
Excellent communication skills and comfort operating in a matrixed, international organization
Experience with asset optimization and power market participation, including day-ahead and real-time markets
Familiarity with CAISO and ERCOT strongly preferred; exposure to MISO is a plus
