Responsibilities
Review contracts, sales orders, and billing data to confirm proper revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP and ASC 606
Prepare monthly revenue-related journal entries, including royalty and commission accruals, rebate accruals, bad debt reserves and intercompany eliminations
Reconcile revenue accounts and maintain accurate supporting documentation
Review daily sales numbers and reconcile AR subledger and general ledger
Assist with analysis and reporting of monthly revenue results
Process and apply all incoming customer payments (ACH, wire, check) daily
Investigate and resolve unapplied or misapplied cash promptly
Coordinate with invoicing, sales, and customer service to ensure accurate application of remittances
Support monthly bank and AR reconciliations
Monitor AR aging and ensure timely follow-up on past-due balances
Execute collection efforts and dunning procedures in accordance with company policy
Maintain clear communication with customers regarding overdue invoices, short payments, and payment discrepancies
Maintain close relationships with sales and customer service to ensure proper communication of problem customers
Set up new customer accounts and establish lines of credit
Escalate delinquent or disputed accounts to the Accounting Manager and assist in evaluating bad debt exposure
Prepare reconciliations for revenue, tooling and equipment projects, and AR accounts as part of the monthly close process
Provide detailed AR aging and collection status reports to management
Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules and documentation
Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis related to revenue and cash collections
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, required
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills, required
Excellent communication and follow-up skills across departments and with customers, required
Preferred
3+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on revenue, AR, or general ledger, preferred
Knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, preferred
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage XA, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel, preferred
