Information Security Administrator

Responsibilities
Develops, implements, and follows system administration plans and procedures to ensure security technologies are maintained and protected efficiently
Reviews existing security technologies to identify opportunities to modernize, optimize, and enhance security and implement approved improvements
Identifies and evaluates new security technology solutions, document findings, and presents recommendations to the Information Security Manager and team
Contributes proactively to team knowledge sharing and mentoring to promote a security-focused culture and ensure adequate coverage for all security systems
Performs scheduled and unscheduled system and hardware upgrades, patches, and other system needs, requiring occasional availability outside of standard business hours, including nights (7pm-7am), weekends (Fri-Sun), and during emergencies; average is eight times per year and will vary based on business needs
Collaborates with the Information Security Manager, Analysts, and third-party partners to evaluate security findings and coordinate with ITOps teams on necessary remediations
Partners with Information Security Manager, Analysts, and third-party partners to identify and implement configuration improvements that proactively strengthen system security
Assists in developing security incident response plans, ensuring roles and procedures are clear, concise, and actionable
Provides rotating on-call coverage for unexpected security issues; shifts are weeklong, 24/7, and occur approximately once every three weeks
Monitors security system consoles and triage notifications, events, and data to identify potential security risks to infrastructure and application systems and develops and executes remediation plans
Maintains an understanding of core, application, and security infrastructure technologies and performs proactive research and analysis to identify and remediate emerging threats and vulnerabilities
Monitors and triages security-related incident tickets and ensuring timely and efficient response through the information security ticket queue
Comply with MassHousing’s Information Security Program and all other Agency information security policies and procedures
Take responsibility for any Agency assets assigned to you
Promptly report any security events, incidents, or weaknesses to MassHousing’s Information Security Team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in information technology field or equivalent work experience
5+ years of work experience in technology system administration
5+ years of work experience in e-mail security platforms and solutions
5+ years of work experience in Microsoft-based system administration and security, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
5+ years of work experience analyzing and responding to security events in Microsoft-based environments
5+ years of work experience with Microsoft Defender security solutions and consoles
Eligibility to work in, and travel freely to and from the United States without sponsorship
Preferred
Experience with Fortinet-based networking, perimeter security, and remote access
Experience with Microsoft-based cloud infrastructure, including Azure networking, IaaS, PaaS, and identity
Experience with Proofpoint email protection products
