User Experience Designer - User Experience Designer III

Our client, Apex Systems, is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to lead customer experience initiatives and collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineering teams. The role involves creating user-centered designs, leading strategic planning for projects, and championing user-centered design practices.

Responsibilities

Create elegant and intuitive user experiences by incorporating user insights, business requirements and technical constraints
Help lead the planning and strategic phases of a migration project
Quickly and iteratively create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups with detailed visual design specifications for mobile, and web interfaces throughout the design process
Independently deliver UX solutions for problems of large scope and complexity. Work through ambiguity, and adapt your approach to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders
Be a champion for user-centered design by partnering with researchers to test your solutions in front of users; and be willing to build lightweight prototype, conduct scrappy and quick user testing on your own if required
Present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership

Required

6+ years of design experience
An online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices
6+ years of rapid prototyping experience
6+ years of experience with design tools including Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator and Axure
Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience

Preferred

Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, user interviews, contextual inquiry) is a strong plus
Strong visual design skills to complement your UX skill
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently
A strong track record of iterative design, working closely with product and tech partners from inception through implementation
