Responsibilities
Provide hands-on technical leadership across Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter), including configuration, integrations, GOSU, Java, XML, and REST/SOAP services
Own Guidewire architecture, solution design, and technical roadmap aligned with business and enterprise standards
Review designs, code, and integrations to ensure quality, performance, security, and reliability
Drive engineering best practices (coding standards, testing, CI/CD, observability)
Act as escalation point for complex production issues and lead platform upgrades and modernization initiatives
Partner with Product, Architecture, QA, SMEs, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
Manage Agile/Scrum/SAFe delivery, including scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and release planning
Track and improve engineering metrics (velocity, lead time, defects, DORA metrics)
Recruit, mentor, coach, and manage high-performing engineering teams; set goals and conduct performance reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
5+ years of hands-on Guidewire development experience in a technical lead or manager role
3+ years of experience managing Agile engineering teams (Scrum/SAFe)
5+ years of experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain
Strong experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter
Preferred
Expertise in GOSU, Guidewire configuration, PCF screens, rules, and data model
Strong Java/J2EE, object-oriented design, and integration experience
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modernization initiatives
Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, messaging, relational/NoSQL databases
Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket) and DevOps practices
Familiarity with containers, monitoring, logging, and system observability
Guidewire and/or Cloud certifications
