NERC PRC Compliance Project Manager

NAES Corporation is seeking an experienced NERC PRC Compliance Project Manager to support a fleet-wide compliance initiative for inverter-based generation assets. This role will lead planning and execution of PRC-028, PRC-029, and PRC-030 compliance activities across multiple solar, battery storage, and wind facilities.

Responsibilities

Manage and execute a multi-site NERC PRC compliance program for inverter-based resources, including solar, BESS, and wind assets
Coordinate PRC-028, PRC-029, and PRC-030 activities, including gap assessments, corrective action planning, and implementation
Lead and track site-specific grid modeling efforts, including EMT and dynamic modeling performed by third-party engineering vendors
Interface with inverter OEMs to support data acquisition, firmware alignment, and model validation efforts
Develop and maintain site-level schedules, risk registers, and compliance tracking to ensure milestones are met
Support development of compliance documentation, procedures, and audit-ready evidence
Coordinate integration of Generator Interconnection Agreement (GIA) requirements with PRC-029 and PRC-030 compliance activities
Provide regular status updates to client stakeholders, including progress, risks, and mitigation strategies
Support root cause analysis and response efforts for reportable grid events as required under PRC-030

Required

Direct experience supporting NERC PRC compliance efforts, including PRC-028, PRC-029, and PRC-030
Experience working with inverter-based resources (IBR) such as solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and/or wind generation
Ability to manage and coordinate grid modeling, protection, and compliance activities across multiple sites with firm regulatory deadlines
Strong communication skills to interface with utilities, OEMs, engineering vendors, and compliance stakeholders
Strong understanding of NERC compliance processes and regulatory expectations for generator owners
Familiarity with power system protection concepts, ride-through requirements, and inverter behavior during grid disturbances
Experience managing technical vendors performing power system modeling or protection studies
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize tasks across a large asset portfolio
Proficient with standard project management tools and documentation practices
8+ years of experience supporting power generation, grid compliance, protection, or power system modeling projects

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred
Prior experience supporting renewable or inverter-based generation assets strongly preferred
Previous experience working with utilities, IPPs, or grid compliance consulting firms is a plus
