Responsibilities
Lead all technical architecture activities across multiple IT projects
Design and document solution blueprints spanning conceptual, logical, and physical architecture layers
Partner with project and program managers as the primary technical decision-maker
Translate business requirements into sustainable, adaptable technology solutions
Support future-state planning and architecture road-mapping
Participate in architecture standards, governance, and review processes
Oversee technology health assessments and contribute to improvement plans
Collaborate with cybersecurity, middleware, database, and infrastructure teams to resolve technical issues
Mentor and guide architects and technical staff of varying experience levels
Manage enterprise risk, total cost of ownership, and cross-functional technical impacts
Qualification
Required
10+ years of overall IT experience
7+ years of solution architecture and project implementation experience
Extensive experience with SAP EAM / PM / WM / MM
Strong background in utility electric operations, including: Asset & Work Management, Distribution poles, transmission towers, substations
SAP EAM / PM / WM / MM architecture and implementation
GIS experience, especially ESRI products
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
Service-oriented and enterprise architecture design
Experience with electric engineering tools (CAD, design tools)
Experience with Visio, Lucidchart, or similar diagramming tools
Working knowledge of estimating and estimating tools (e.g., EES)
Knowledge of joint pole assets, activities, and technologies
Experience supporting operational systems and enterprise platforms
Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
Ability to influence outcomes through expertise and analysis
Customer-focused mindset with ownership of outcomes
Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity
Proven ability to mentor and lead technical teams
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
Preferred
PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, AUD, Substation Design Suite
SAP SaaS applications (Ariba, HANA, SuccessFactors)
Experience with enterprise architecture tools
Experience directing design engineers and technical architects
