Data Engineer
OMNI is seeking a Software Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data transformation. The role requires collaboration with software and security engineers to establish data standards and ensure compliance with security and privacy requirements.
Responsibilities
Ability to design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to move and transform data from disparate sources across systems
Support data governance by maintaining clear documentation, lineage tracking, and access controls
Develop and manage data models, schemas, and warehouse structures for analytics and product needs
Ability to engineer receipt of data from live or batched sources
Collaborate with software engineers, security engineers, and product managers to establish data standards and meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements
Experience with API frameworks and challenges (authentication, error handling), microservices, and how data flows through software products
Proficiency with data modeling, extraction, warehousing, and relational + NoSQL Databases
Collaborate on API design and data services for internal and external consumption
Contribute to technical documentation, data catalogs, and knowledge-sharing sessions
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
Qualification
Required
Active DoD Secret Clearance (Required)
12+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, or similar roles
Experience with government/military security practices as part of software development in addition to knowledge of industry standards
Ability to design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to move and transform data from disparate sources across systems
Extensive hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) — e.g.,Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks
Support data governance by maintaining clear documentation, lineage tracking, and access controls
Develop and manage data models, schemas, and warehouse structures for analytics and product needs. Ability to engineer receipt of data from live or batched sources
Collaborate with software engineers, security engineers, and product managers to establish data standards and meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements
Experience with API frameworks and challenges (authentication, error handling), microservices, and how data flows through software products
Proficiency with data modeling, extraction, warehousing, and relational + NoSQL Databases
Preferred
Proficiency with Palantir Foundry, MS Power Platform, Salesforce desired
