Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities
Develop/improve manufacturing processes through research, design and modification of manufacturing methods/equipment
Create/revise documentation for assembly and test processes
Design and fabricate fixtures and tools for assembly and test processes
Improve manufacturing efficiencies by analyzing the product flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Provide input to the design review process for the review and development of assembly tools/fixtures, test equipment and HSE considerations
Maintain manufacturing equipment and processes for production readiness
Continuously improve assembly and test processes (using Lean and 6-Sigma techniques)
Maintain manufacturing equipment by coordinating maintenance and repair services
Identify and implement tools and equipment modifications to increase product throughput and lower cost
Develop and implement training for equipment and processes. Provide training and coaching to technicians
Assist with Failure Analysis and problem solving to determine root cause of failures and implement corrective actions
Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events utilizing Lean tools to improve process efficiencies and throughput
Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) events
Perform other duties as directed by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Qualification
Required
BS degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Engineering Technology
1-3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical assembly
Ability to lead teams
Excellent coaching skills – ability to transfer knowledge to assembly and test technicians
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Working knowledge of Solidworks, CAD or similar drafting software
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
Ability to present technical information
Working knowledge of MSOffice programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint
