Research Assistant - Oncology

Responsibilities
Reviews the patient record to correctly identify and interpret the required data and accurately transcribes into electronic capture systems
Performs literature review as directed
Updates research databases with pertinent patient information to document completed research procedures, pharmacy dispensing and research staff workload, among others
Assists research department with daily tasks needed to maintain a quality research program. These duties may include preparing lab kits, processing, and shipping specimens to local or reference labs; entering patient data into a variety of computer based systems; prepping for tumor boards; requesting anonymized copies of imaging studies and uploading to central reviewer system, creating study checklists using the study calendar of events, scanning research related documents into the electronic medical records, makes copies of appropriate paperwork for patients chart
Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows department scheduling policies/parameters
Performs other generalized clerical duties such as: Printing reports/protocols, making copies, maintains incoming and outgoing fax transactions and phone calls, preparing research charts, filing, ordering supplies, sorting and distributing mail, monitor / auditor requests
Qualification
Required
High School or GED Equivalent
Ability to work the hours specified
Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others
Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds

Bachelor's
1-3 years healthcare
