Revenue Cycle Optimization Manager (Systems & Denials)

LNCsearch is working with a well-established, multi-site healthcare organization to fill the role of Revenue Cycle Optimization Manager (Systems & Denials). This position serves as a senior technical and operational leader, focusing on denials management, AR performance, and system optimization to ensure revenue cycle consistency and quality.

Responsibilities

Lead enterprise-wide denial prevention and recovery strategies
Perform root cause analysis by payer, provider, CPT, workflow, and system configuration
Develop corrective action plans and partner with operations to reduce repeat denials
Monitor KPIs including denial rates, first-pass yield, and AR performance
Present denial trends and insights to senior leadership
Serve as the Revenue Cycle subject matter expert for: Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) – required, eClinicalWorks (eCW) – required
Support new practice implementations, acquisitions, or vendor transitions
Assist practices and vendors in adapting workflows from legacy EHR/PM systems into ModMed
Partner with IT, clearinghouses, and vendors on: System configuration, Scrubbing rules, EDI/ERA workflows, Upgrades and system enhancements
Maintain documentation for system edits, workflows, and best practices
Establish quality standards for billing, coding, and AR workflows
Conduct audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency
Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Support training and education tied to system use and denial prevention
Act as a liaison between revenue cycle teams, vendors, and leadership
Support outsourced AR or billing partners by monitoring performance and alignment
Translate technical system issues into operational and financial impact
Mentor and guide AR, denials, or RCM analysts
Serve as a trusted advisor to operational and executive stakeholders
Contribute to enterprise-level revenue cycle strategy

Required

5+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience
Strong hands-on expertise with Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) – required
Strong working knowledge of eClinicalWorks – required
Proven success managing denials and AR performance
Experience supporting system implementations, transitions, or practice onboarding
High level of system aptitude and analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred

Prior leadership or manager-level experience
Experience in multi-site or MSO environments
CPC, CRCR, or similar certification
