Director of Accounting

The Accounting Director will manage financial operations, oversee accounting processes, and ensure compliance while leading the accounting team and collaborating with other departments.

Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Ensure compliance with private equity reporting requirements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages
Manage audits, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of audit schedules
Manage year-end tax process with third parties
Supervise day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
Establish, monitor, and enforce robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks
Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices to support growth
Support due diligence and integration efforts for acquisitions or other strategic initiatives
Work with disparate practice accounting teams to implement NetSuite, train on basic accrual accounting, and perform monthly reviews
Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, and continuous improvement
Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to support the company’s financial objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation required
6-8 years of progressive accounting experience
Healthcare industry experience is required, particularly in multi-location, provider-based organizations, with experience in cash-to-accrual revenue recognition
Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite)
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Preferred
Prior experience in a private equity-backed environment is highly preferred
Experience with implementation preferred
