The Research Scientist Supervisor I will oversee the Adolescent Program Evaluation and Data Unit, focusing on program evaluation efforts related to maternal, child, and adolescent health initiatives.

Responsibilities

Provide scientific and management oversight to the Adolescent Program Evaluation and Data (APED) Unit
Support the design and implementation of MCAH program evaluation efforts related to local health jurisdictions, Title V MCH Block Grant reporting, needs assessments, and various MCAH programs
Use tools and methods in program evaluation, social/behavioral sciences, statistics, project management, stakeholder communication, and data systems and informatics to promote public health
Present findings through consultation to departmental management and staff, presentations to public health audiences, fact sheets, government reports, and articles in scientific journals
Travel for local agency site visits, which may include overnight stays

Required

Master's Degree required to meet the minimum qualifications
Doctoral Degree required to meet the minimum qualifications
Expert programmatic and administrative skills, including data systems, data management, data analysis and evaluation
Experienced in managing assignments and timelines, conflict resolution and cooperation
Ability to listen and mentor staff and help a team work together
Solutions oriented, a learner with a continuous growth mindset
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Adaptability and positivity in a fast paced, changing work environment
Passionate about supporting pregnant and parenting youth and their families; knowledge of community through lived experience or direct working experience
Must take and pass the examination for this classification to be eligible for hire
California residency required prior to appointment
