Data Center Technician

Responsibilities
Perform daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering (M&E) systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance
Under close supervision, complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures in accordance with Environment, Health and Safety Policy - ensuring all safety processes and PPE requirements are followed
Also, ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met
Oversee third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws/regulations
Accompany vendors on site visits on an as needed basis and ensure site standards are met. Help create and develop work processes, Job Hazard Analysis reports, and SOPs for critical work with risk assessment. Ensure that CERM documents and logbooks are updated
Complete all required training in order to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities SUPERVISORY
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks
Qualification
Required
4-5 years of experience
Completed Trade School Program
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office Suite
Basic Application knowledge
Must have prior Data Center Experience - Specifically on the Mechanical/Electrical Ops side
Strong mechanical skills
Ability to read schematics
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Strong Electrical Skills
Good communication Skills
Willingness to learn
High School Diploma/GED required
Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor
Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees
Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles
Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations
Ability to solve problems in standard situations
Requires basic analytical skills
Experience in a financial setting working with billing and payables
Prior experience using a financial system
Ability to use Microsoft Excel
Preferred
Certified Electrician or HVAC technician preferred
2-4 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferred
Strong background in either HVAC or Electrical, preferred
Ability to share knowledge with fellow techs
Multi-skilled in Electrical/HVAC
