Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for development of program technical baseline. Works closely with program Chief System Engineer to develop verifiable technical requirements
Responsible for providing technical leadership, guidance, and direction to Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Firmware designers to ensure the success of the design
Control and develop requirements and verification plans while positively interacting with customers to solve technical problems and identify areas to improve their work
Responsible for the technical integrity of the system through the product/program full life cycle including proposals, design, integration & test, verification, and sustainment
Walk both sides of the V; decompose requirements to drive a risk mitigated development plan, oversee system integration, and lead requirements-based verification using test threads
Technical point of contact for the customer
Brief leadership on technical status
Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities
Ability to lead Root Cause / Corrective Action investigations that are typically associated with Qualification or Acceptance test failures including managing the investigation and briefing internal and external customers throughout the effort
Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product

Required

Requires strong knowledge of job area. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline. May have broad knowledge of project management. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
Experience in digital electronics, FPGA/VHDL and software development and integration programs
Experience with requirements management along with DOORs, JAMA or equivalent requirements management tool
Experience leading requirements analysis, decomposition and assignment to appropriate functional areas of responsibility, and manage traceability of requirements back to customer specifications
Experience creating requirements test verification matrices
Experience leading Engineering teams to create requirements test verification matrices
Experience managing multiple technical projects that include system integration, system verification, and formal qualification of electronic subsystem designs
Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management, Technical Supplier Management
Experience with leading a diverse development and operations team
Experience across product development lifecycle
System level design experience
Experience being involved in system integration, engineering testing, and system performance characterization

Preferred

Extensive experience in digital electronics, FPGA/VHDL and software development of custom electronic subsystems
Experience in detailed design for Telemetry or similar mixed-signal products
Experience or knowledge of Government contract acquisition lifecycle a plus
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
Experience developing technical or cost proposals (including generating basis of estimates) in a defense contracting environment
Ability to make technical decisions, guide the technical direction/vision for a given project, complete project objectives within budget and schedule, and work with little supervision
Ability to work successfully with both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting scope
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Master's degree in Systems, Electrical, or similar Engineering discipline
Perform trade studies on a variety of systems and components
Experience developing and maintaining an integrated master schedule
Experience managing multiple technical projects with budgets of $5M+ each
Experience with COMSEC products or information assurance requirements
Expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Open Systems design
Develops or champions new systems, concepts, or technologies
Expert knowledge of data models, hardware/software interfaces, synchronous processing constructs and control methodology, real-time processing including CPU / FPGA / GPU fabric, precision time distribution and discipline, and data interfaces
Demonstrated mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area, with the ability to serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas
Experience in Control Account Management as part of an Earned Value Management System
Experience in development of use cases developed from customer objectives and concepts of operations
Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
