McCormack Baron Companies is seeking a Corporate Accountant to assist the Controller in various corporate responsibilities. The role involves financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining internal controls for corporate financial reporting and accounting functions.

Responsibilities

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing including preparation of reconciliations and adjustments

Maintain and update recurring journal entries

Set up GL and development job accounts

Maintain compliance with internal control procedures across various accounting functions

Manage and distribute financial reporting as required under various agreements with stakeholders, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met

Prepare monthly YTD actual versus budget and forecast reports

Prepare special financial analysis and reports on an as needed basis utilizing Microsoft excel

Responsible for maintaining project development data which includes daily monitoring of data management system, communication with project development teams, enforcement of policies and procedures, and periodic data uploads to the development and accounting records

Reviewing and reporting on key project data for projects under development

Assist in the annual development of the 3-year budget

Assist in monthly reforecast

Prepare audit schedules, work with auditors to resolve open corporate issues in a timely manner

Required

Possess a strong knowledge of GAAP

Be able to operate Microsoft Excel utilizing advanced functions

Be proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Word and Outlook

Consistently pay close attention to detail, ensuring precision in records to prevent errors that could lead to errors in financial reporting or compliance issues

Be able to prioritize multiple projects, work independently, and handle/resolve various problems in a timely manner

Bachelor's degree in accounting

3+ years' experience in public accounting and/or real estate industry experience
