Responsibilities
Contact delinquent accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current. Make recommendations to the Delinquency Manager on accounts for workouts or legal action
Analyze financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful
Collect on all delinquent loans including, but not limited to, mortgages, VISAs, car loans and any outstanding loans with the Credit Union
Handle the process of returned checks
Work and oversee Loss Prevention for the department
Assist the other Collectors; work together with department to meet goals and standards
Inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans
Practice confidentiality where indicated in employee matters and Credit Union operations
Qualification
Required
A High School Diploma or GED required
3 to 5 years of similar or related experience required
Must have good communication skills, organizational skills, and be detail oriented
