Plan, organize, and supervise daily fabrication shop operations
Manage fabrication schedules to meet production and project deadlines
Lead, train, and evaluate welders, fabricators, and shop personnel
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards
Monitor quality control to ensure fabricated products meet drawings, specifications, and codes
Coordinate with engineering and project management on drawings, revisions, and technical requirements
Oversee material usage, inventory, and coordination with purchasing
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
Maintain shop equipment and coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance
Enforce welding procedures, certifications, and fabrication standards
Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or trade certification preferred
5+ years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing, with supervisory or management experience
Strong knowledge of welding processes, metal fabrication, and shop equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Familiarity with quality standards, safety regulations, and fabrication best practices
Proven leadership and team management skills
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred
Experience in heavy equipment, industrial fabrication, or environmental systems manufacturing
Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent)
Experience with production planning or ERP systems
